In One Note

I told iTunes to make me a playlist of five-star songs, and then I went through and pruned out ones that I thought would be too tough.  Here are some lyrics from the final twenty.  Name those tunes!  :)

Edit: I bolded the ones nobody's gotten, and marked who got the rest first.
  1. I've been around; someone like me should know better
Falling in love would be the worst thing I could do - audeo

  2. Ah, I bet I know what she's like
And I can feel how right she'd be for me - audeo

  3. There is a town in North Ontario
With dream comfort memory to spare
In my mind I still need a place to go
All of my changes were there

  4. There's a place for us -- you know the movie song
When you gonna realize, it was just that the time was wrong? - rachelhomer

  5. It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again - king_cool_paul

  6. Hours on the phone making pointless calls
I've got a desk full of paper that means nothing at all - polomarco

  7. If you could see what I have seen
    Broken hearts and broken dreams
Then I wake up and you're not there
    Pain finds me everywhere
    Oh, but you don't care - nebulous_blue

  8. Between the Costco and the Barnes and Noble - polomarco

  9. Now, the liquor tasted good
And the women all were fast
    (audeo got half...)

  10. You could've heard a pin drop
When Tommy stopped, and locked the door - nebulous_blue

  11. She never realized what I told her with my eyes
That back in the second war I killed twenty German boys
    With my own bare hands

And the woman inside my house, she keeps on talking
She never says a thing, she just keeps talking
And I might just leave her still, after the sun goes down
    And I smoke this cigarette

  12. If I didn't tell her, I could leave today - polomarco

  13. There's a pretty girl serving at the counter of a corner shop
She's been waiting back there, waiting for a dream
Her dreams walk in and out, they never stop
Well, she's not too proud to cry out loud
She runs to the street and she screams
    (nebulous_blue is halfway there...)

  14. Build up your confidence so you can be on top for once
Wake up -- who cares about little boys that talk too much? - nebulous_blue

  15. Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't never gonna burn my heart out - nebulous_blue

  16. It can't be that cold -- the ground is still warm to touch
    Hey, we touch
This place is so quiet sensing that storm - king_cool_paul

  17. There's a girl with a crown and a scepter
    Who's on WLSD - giggleloop

  18. I tried my imagination, but I was disturbed - nebulous_blue

  19. Greg, he writes letters with his birthday pen
Sometimes he's aware that they're drawing him in - nebulous_blue

  20. It was a baby boy
So we bought him a toy
    It was a ray-gun
And it was 1981 - polomarco
Okay, I'm not proud that I gave #7 five stars.  I must have been drunk or something.  Consider this context: I've rated 700 songs five stars.  There HAVE to be some clunkers in there.  :)

I do listen to heavier stuff, too, but apparently iTunes doesn't think so... and I'm certainly not going to get into a fight with iTunes.

EDIT: Next post contains the answers. Also: w00t! :)

  • "The Seeker"?

Hmmm. Be very, very afraid. (And I thought I was frightened before.) Was Over Sea, Under Stone deemed too dull for a crowd of 2007 children?
