Why don't people care? Yes, I know their lives are busy, but so's mine. Yes, I know life has crushed dreams of theirs before, but I've got a little pile of idealistic pancakes in my closet, too.
Hmm, "Idealistic Pancakes" -- good band name.
History has taught us that people will only put up with so much before they revolt, but history has never had such a well fed, lazy, apathetic proletariat to work with. The real poor and downtrodden don't actually get to vote; we found that out in 2000.
What's the solution? I don't know, but I hope that by being optimistic and working on those around me I can make a little difference. Little differences multiply, after all.
Maybe my check is one of those little differences. It's going out in the mail tomorrow, in any case. Who knows?
