Two Strange Occurrences

First: I played my new Welcome Interstate Managers CD on my portable CD player in the car on the way to work today, and both channels of the recording played. This is odd because the left channel has never worked - neither in my car nor in any other - on this CD player. Audio component, heal thyself, apparently.

Second: I walked into the coffee room here at work, and I heard the following two sentences, completely out of context, uttered by two guys I don't know:
    There was like shrapnel everywhere. The bird just totally exploded.
So, it's been an eventful day, thus far.

P.S. -- I also really like the following line from Fountains of Wayne's No Better Place, off the above mentioned disc:
    It may be the whiskey talking
    But the whiskey says I miss you every day
Just though y'all should know.

  • "The Seeker"?

    Hmmm. Be very, very afraid. (And I thought I was frightened before.) Was Over Sea, Under Stone deemed too dull for a crowd of 2007 children?
