The problem is that they're _Swann's Way_ (Remembrance of Things Past (part 1)) by Marcel Proust (English translation), and Thomas Pynchon's _Gravity's Rainbow._
Right. Of course I'll finish (and understand) both before they're due. Just like I managed to finish _Ulysses_ by James Joyce after taking it out 4 separate times. (That's self-deprecating sarcasm, folks in the back.)
